Phander Lake is situated in in the Phander Valley, in Ghizer District, the westernmost part of the Gilgit–Baltistan region and northernmost territory of Pakistan.

A valley is a low area between hills, often with a river running through it.

Gilgit (Urdu, Shina: گلگت) is the Capital city of Gilgit-Baltistan, an administrative territory of Pakistan.

Baltistan (Urdu:بلتستان, Balti: བལ་ཏི་སྟྰན), also known as Baltiyul or Little Tibet (Balti: བལ་ཏི་ཡུལ་།), is a mountainous region in Pakistan situated in the Karakoram mountains just to the south of K2, the world’s second highest mountain.
